Star Trek: Discovery Terra Firma Part 2 Review

Philippa Georgiou in an effort to find a cure for her trans-dimensional atomic failure has a life changing extended stay in the Mirror Universe.

Terra Firma, Part 2 is a second quality episode of season 3 on the bounce and deserves a showcase. Even though it may polarise fans.

Discovery has had its rocky episodes and seems to work best when playing off the framing heart and hope of Star Trek. Firma 2 avoids pretentious blabber with this episode delivering the right amount of space adventure, science fiction and emotion.

With first class production values director Chloe Domont and writers offer some attention grabbing character moments, including a little Kelpien twist. With nods to the original series, (namely echoing how Kirk treated Chekov in "Mirror, Mirror), some great acting and alternative universe shenanigans this is one of the best Trek-like episodes.

Actress Michelle Yeoh is outstanding here and thanks to some solid acting (and writing) delivers a fitting exit for Emperor Philippa Georgiou. Probably one of the best exits in a series in recent memory.

Overall, a much needed return to pace and form.
