Dead Trigger (2017) Review

A group of zombie game players go up against the real thing, thankfully prepared for an undead virus outbreak.

Based on the game of the same name, opening with poor man's Paul Verhoeven satirical edge, directors Mike Cuff and Scott Windhauser offer a passable but mediocre low budget zombie yarn.
Some makeup effects are executed well for the budget, there's an abundance of CGI gun fire. Lapses in logic aside, especially in action setups, it has the occasional atmospheric shot usually when the team are outdoors.

Credit for getting Dolph Lundgren and Predators' Oleg Taktarov on board but it's just not as much fun or high concept as one of Dolph's other low budget zombie affair Battle of the Damned. Both Luciana Carro and Autumn Reeser deserve a mention.

Overall, every cliche imaginable is thrown in, with wall to wall vest tops, a few fight scenes, slashing, shootings topped off with and an urban soundtrack and dramatic score-expect to get what you paid for... If only it lived up to some of the promotion material.
